METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ANTI-BEDSORE ACTION ON AREAS OF PATIENT'S BODY AND DEVICE FOR PREVENTION OF BEDSORES Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: anti-bedsore measures are taken by periodical building-up and relieving air pressure in two independent groups of intercommunicating pneumatic sections of mattress by cycles wherein the time within which mattress section groups are subjected to pressure relates to the time within which there is no pressure in one of groups as 3τ while controlling cycle of one group of sections is displaced from controlling cycle of another group by 2τ. Areas of patient's body coming in contact with mattress sections under pressure are subjected to vibrating action at a frequency of 15-25 Hz and an amplitude not over 0.55 mm. The device for prevention of bedsores comprises mattress 7 made of two independent inflatable groups of sections 7a and 7b communicating through hoses 5, 6, and controllable valves 2, 4 with control unit 3 and air pump. The function of air pump is performed by vibrating compressor with controllable valves 2, 4 installed in each of connecting hoses 5, 6.
