FIELD: road vehicles; fuel tanks. SUBSTANCE: method of fuel tank manufacture comes to manufacture of envelope enclosing a porous structure. The latter is formed by foaming of polymerizing or setting material, for instance, polyurethane or liquid aluminium, which follows the shape of envelope, with use of embedded members, at least for fuel tank neck and fuel pump mount, which either reach the bottom of envelope, or terminate close to bottom. These members are subsequently removed. A number of additional operations related to peculiarities of moulding and distribution of material in fuel tank volume during manufacture of porous structure ensure new set of properties of such fuel tank.
