SUBSTANCE: process comprises the hardening of quick-cutting steel surface by anodic polarization in molten metal salt bath for 1.5-2.5 hours at anode potential of 0.12 to 1.20 V and temperatures of 823-1190 K followed by air cooling of the hardened surface.
