FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: voltage pulses with current pulse amplitude varying from 0.1 to 1.0 A are applied to contacts of starters. The pulse period-to- pulse duration ratio is chosen from the considerations of ensuring the temperature of bimetallic plate of the starter lower than the contacting temperature. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities.
