FIELD: metal pressure shaping. SUBSTANCE: technological tooling consists at least of three rolls mounted at angles of feeding and processing, making up a roll groove. All rolls consist of entry cone provided with helicoidal protrusions and recesses; deforming ridge; and exit cone. The helicoidal protrusions and recesses of entry cone have undulating profile and are oriented along the helical line at an angle corresponding to the feed angle. The protrusions height and width decrease gradually in the direction from the larger entry cone base towards smaller entry cone base, with corresponding increase of the recess width. The roll cross section in the area of smaller entry cone base has a round form. The protrusions height h in the area of larger entry cone base is determined from the formula presented in the description. The invention reduces the probability of billet metal roll up in the edges area. EFFECT: enlarged technological capabilities; increased reliability of square billet clamping; improved billet rotation characteristics during rolling; improved quality of the round rolled products surface. 2 cl, 4 dwg, 1 tbl
