FIELD: metal plastic working. SUBSTANCE: method involves pushing off workpiece from preliminarily lifted female die by repeated application of effort in the direction of upsetting. In this case upsetting male die is used as pusher. Upsetting device has sectional crosspiece mounted concentrically to female die and circular groove on its side surface. Crosspiece is used for clamping female die and its lifting above bottom plate. Lifting drive is made in the form of power cylinders mounted on bottom plate. Cylinders have two chambers. Actuation of one of these chambers leads to lifting female die above bottom plate and actuation of another results in pressing down female die against bottom plate. In other instance of the device its lifting and clamping drive is made in the form of transmission pairs including toothed racks and wheels. EFFECT: enhanced operating efficiency. 5 cl, 3 dwg
