FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: wedge lock is located in seat which is immovable relative to swivel member. Wedge lock is made in form of member introduced together into this seat and engageable over inclined surface. One of members which is simultaneously body of lock is drive member whose head is engageable with member of turnable or machine being locked; second member is made in form of wedge 2. Wedge and body of lock are spring-loaded relative to each other. Body of lock is T-shaped in form. Head of lock body is provided with teeth and groove which receives projection of wedge. Wedge is received by U-shaped groove in lock body. Mounted on lock body is curvilinear eccentric with radius of outer surface dictated by self-braking conditions.
