FIELD: devices for detecting metal objects. SUBSTANCE: metal locator has metal detector, self-excited oscillator, detector made in accordance with circuit of full-wave rectifier which has output connected with input of pulse amplifier through brought lower frequency filter. Output of pulse amplifier is connected to control input of closed switch through threshold member and "tape-bounded" gate connected in series and newly brought. Device also has actuating member. Self-excited oscillator is made of two transistors, four resistors and five capacitors. EFFECT: improved reliability; enhanced noise immunity; simplified design of the metal locator. 3 cl, 1 dwg
