FIELD: powder production. SUBSTANCE: ground metal, for example, zirconium, is put into a high-strength container with a die, a layer of a filled explosive is positioned from above, the explosive is exploded by an electric detonator. Expanding products of explosion act on zirconium which coming out of the die are quickly unloaded to form a highly dispersed powder, that is zirconium extrusion is performed under an explosive loading. The forming powder has a high chemical activity. EFFECT: improved powder dispersion.
