FIELD: analytical and preparative biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: initial preparation or albumin is precipitated with trichloroacetic acid from serum blood directly. Precipitate is dissolved in ethanol acidified with hydrochloric acid and subjected for gel-filtration using acidified ethanol as a solvent for elution. Then protein is isolated from eluate obtained by ultrafiltration, salting out with sodium acetate or by precipitation with alkali. Protein is lyophilized, and a fraction of native serum albumin is isolated. EFFECT: simplified process, retained functional activity of the end product.
