FIELD: communication devices. SUBSTANCE: analog signals from individual channels are sampled with frequencies f which are proportional to the greatest common divisor GCD(f) of these frequencies. Then level of these signals is quantized. They are encoded by methods of immediate (or almost immediate) companding. Code groups having h symbols for each sample are generated. When almost immediate companding is used then code groups of scaling coefficients are generated in addition. Blocks of samples having f*n*T symbols, where period of memorizing symbols T is inverse to the greatest common divisor of sampling frequencies 1/GCD(f). T is factor of memorizing period for code groups of scaling coefficients and these groups are read with clock frequency of group flow. Blocks are read by packets which size equals to the greatest common divisor of symbols in individual block in each channel N = GCD(N), common number of packets is equal to the least common multiple of number of packets of channel signals LCM(N). During reception packets of individual channels and corresponding code groups of scaling coefficients are detected, stored these packets in blocks having f*n*T symbols and read with speed of channel signals 1/f*n. Then they are decoded. EFFECT: increased throughput capacity of transmission system, increased functional capabilities due to combination and change of channels having different kinds of signal companding. 1 dwg
