FIELD: cheese industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a vat with a cutting-stirring mechanism and a filtering element at a hole in the vat side wall. The element has slewing and fixed parts with slits between them. The slewing part is provided with a set of ring plates with spacer washers and screw-shaped vanes. The flow of whey coming to the vanes makes the ring plates turn so that they are cleaned by shaped wire clamps secured in a stationary shell.
