FIELD: engine manufacture. SUBSTANCE: to improve authenticity of tests, method involves filling the plunger barrel with test fluid, sealing above-plunger space, orienting one member of plunger-and-barrel pair relative to the other one and reciprocating one member relative to the other over a distance not less than active plunger stroke. Then test pressure of fluid is built up, the time is measured for movement of one member of the pair relative to the other one and serviceability of pair is determined by comparing received result with reference figure.
