FIELD: furnaces. SUBSTANCE: upper grate is made from a more heat-resistant and wear-resistant alloy of smaller thickness than the lower one. Side walls of the upper grate slots are made so as to form a calibrated section with a constant through height cross section, the lower grate slots are expanded to the bottom. Available embodiments provide usage of a built-up upper grate or it may be made from a low-alloyed or a nonalloyed steel with a heat-resistant coating.
