FIELD: chemical equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a shell with plates on which bed vortex contact members are positioned, the members have coaxially located shell with windows in the lower part and vertical slots in the upper part, an impingement plate, an overflow tube and a swirler. The bed is made in the form of a set of shelves flanged upward, along which longitudinal axis vortex contact members are mounted in a row. Semicircular hollows are made on the perimeter of the side edges, inlet sections of the overflow tubes are located in these hollows. The plate bed has longitudinal plates fastened between the flanges of the shelves and in the slots made on the inlet sections of the overflow tubes extending above the bed. Moreover, the swirlers of the contact members are made in one piece with the bed by stamping from the shelf material and their angle of attack is from 10 to 45 . Additionally the contact member is made with the following ratio of the geometrical parameters: H = (0.5-3.0)D where H is the shell height, D is the shell diameter, d is the overflow tube diameter.
