FIELD: applicable for processes of absorption, fractionation, distillation. SUBSTANCE: attached to the plate surface is a contact pipe connection with a vortex generator in the lower part and a knockout drum above it, which is provided with an inside and outside cylinders located coaxially with the contact branch pipe, units for delivery and discharge of liquid from the plate surface, and delivery of liquid to the vortex generator. The knockout drum inside cylinder is made with a dead foundation with formation of a cavity accommodating a pipe connection for delivery of liquid phase. The lower section of the outside cylinder is made with a flange located in spaced relation to the apparatus wall and plate surface with formation of a pocket, the cavity of this pocket communicates with the unit for delivery of liquid to the vortex generator. The knockout drum has double walls forming a cavity for heat-transfer agent. The annular cavity between the contact pipe connection and outside cylinder of the knockout drum accommodates a heat exchanger. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of heat exchange and mass transfer of contact plate, enhanced range of stable operation, prevented splash entrainment from contact plate. 3 cl, 2 dwg
