PIPE CUTTING DEVICE Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: cutting of thin-walled pipes. SUBSTANCE: rolled pipes cutting device has hollow spindle, cutting tool and interconnected mechanisms for radial displacement and rotation of tool. Device includes also multiplier hooked up to electric motor. From one side multiplier is connected with rotating mechanism and from the other with mechanism of radial displacement of tool. Tool is made in the form of ring mounted eccentrically to spindle axis and provided with internal toothed thread and two flanges fastened to end faces of ring. Mechanisms of rotation and radial displacement of tool are associated through two screw-and-nut pairs with screw of each pair being freely located in spindle and on crank and nut is mounted movably along screw and is connected with cutting tool. Mechanism of tool rotation contains a pair diametrically positioned cranks connected with spindle and provided with longitudinal grooves for nuts of screw-and-nut pairs. Mechanism of radial displacement of tool has flanged bushing connected with multiplier trough gear drive, tapered gear mounted coaxially with flanged bushing and engaged with two tapered gears each of them being secured on screw of screw-and-nut pair.
