FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: when conducting high-voltage test gas is evacuated out of gas-filled apparatus, it is filled with gas which is less electrically negative compared with working gas. Voltage is raised from zero to Uk. In process of voltage rise continuous measurement of characteristics of partial discharge is conducted. Then pressure of injected gas is reduced with simultaneous and proportional decrease of voltage under continuous measurement of characteristics of partial discharges. Pressure is reduced to value at which discharges in pulse-free shape will emerge in insulation of apparatus. Voltage is reduced to zero, gas is again evacuated out of apparatus, it is filled with working gas to rated operational pressure, voltage is raised from zero to rated testing value with continuous measurement of characteristics of partial discharges. Speed of rise of voltage is so changed as to obtain level of partial discharges from mobile parts not exceeding rated value. Rated test voltage is kept for the course of rated time, is decreased to zero with continuous measurement of characteristics of partial discharges. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability of gas-filled apparatuses, reduced probability of puncture of their insulation under tests by increased efficiency of quality inspection of insulation. 1 dwg
