SCRUBBER Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: gas cleaning. SUBSTANCE: scrubber has vertical Venturi tube 3, supply and discharge pipes 1 and 2, ejector insert 7 mounted in converging tube 9 of Venturi tube 3, drop catcher 6 mounted on diffuser 4 of Venturi tube 3 in axial alignment with it within scrubber housing and vortex generator 5 mounted in annual space between lower part of Venturi tube 3 and inner wall of drop catcher 6. Ejector insert 7 is formed as descending spiral tape 8 defining cone. Rod 10 rigidly secured to cone apex is connected through thread 11 with cover of auxiliary tank 12 for absorbent. Tank 12 is positioned above converging tube 9 of Venturi tube 3. Spiral tape 8 is disposed proximate to cone base and is rigidly attached to lower outer wall of tank 12. Drop catcher is formed as truncated cone with lower end disposed in lower part of Venturi tube 3 and cone opening angle equal to 7-8 deg. Discharge pipe 2 disposed in upper part of drop catcher and supply pipe 1 of Venturi tube 3 are disposed tangentially. Scrubber is further supplied with overflow pipe 13 for connecting tank 12 with lower part of cavity 14 defined by outer wall of drop catcher 6 and inner wall of housing 15 of scrubber.
