FIELD: pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: pectin was converted to solution, demethoxylated by potassium hydroxide and then demineralized with phenol-formaldehyde sulfocationite in H+ form in static conditions. Amount of cationite taken in excess of potassium hydroxide was employed for attaining constant pH value. Resultant solution of pectic acid was titrated by calcium hydroxide in presence of 0.002 parts by weight of copper acetate and 5 parts by weight of sodium chloride per 1 part by weight of pectin.
