FIELD: chemical industry; production of thermoplastic styrene resins. SUBSTANCE: concept of new process for producing thermoplastic styrene resins resided in that admixture including styrene and acrylonitrile was subjected to continuous polymerization in presence of radical initiator and elastomer in inert solvent at temperature of 70 to 150 C at least in two tubular reactors each having flow locking system and reaction mass was then admitted in thin-film evaporator which has processing chamber enclosed in jacket heated to temperature of 150 to 300 C and coaxial rotor revolving at speed of 700 to 1000 rpm and equipped with cantilever end portions shaped as helical blades tilted at angle of 10 to 75 deg relative to rotor axis and 5 to 90 deg with respect to axial plane, shearing forces ranging from 1,000 to 2,900 s-1. EFFECT: higher efficiency in continuous production of thermoplastic styrene resins. 2 tbl
