FIELD: binders. SUBSTANCE: phenolformaldehyde resin of resol type is prepared by condensation of phenol with formaldehyde at boiling point of reaction mixture in the presence of basic catalyst 5.2-10.0 mas. p. per 100 mas. p. phenol triethylamine. Resin obtained is dried under vacuum, dissolved in ethanol, and then modifying agent is added (0.46-0.76 mas, p. per 100 mas. p. phenol ethylenediamine). Cotton fabric is impregnated with resin and pressed at 130± 5°C (2-3 min per 1 mm thickness of article) under pressure 130 kgf/cm2. Resin is used as a binder in textolite production.
