LUBRICATING COMPOSITION FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: internal combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: composition contains product of ester interchange of lower dialkylcarbonate and mixture of (C₁₀-C₁₈) oxoalcohols. The latter being alcohol fraction having branched hydrocarbon monomeric units. Said fraction is prepared by hydroformylation of linear or preferable linear olefins having internal or tail double bond. The process takes place in the presence of cobalt or radium catalyst, it is followed by separation oxoalcohols fraction having branched hydrocarbon monomeric units of oxoalcohol fraction having linear structure. Said separation is carried out in the presence of hydrocarbon or ether solvent, its quantity being 5-50 mass % . Proposed composition contains, mass % : functional additives 6-12, viscosity and depressor additives of about 5 mass % , synthetic oil or its mixture with mineral oil - up to 100.
