Abstract RU 2678102 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a lubricating composition for use in an engine crankcase, comprising: (i) a base oil containing at least one monoester or a mixture of monoesters, where said monoester or mixture of monoesters is present from the total weight of the lubricating composition in an amount from at least 10 wt. % to 75 wt. % and has a kinematic viscosity at 100 °C of no more than 4 mm2/s, a viscosity index of at least 130 and Noack evaporation loss of not more than 20 wt. %; wherein the base oil additionally contains Fischer-Tropsch-derived base oil, and (ii) polymer additives that increase viscosity index, which are present in an amount of dry polymer residue from 0.1 wt. % to 7 wt. %, by weight of the lubricating composition, selected from (a) one or more comb-shaped polymers; (b) a poly(meth)acrylate polymer containing from 1 to 70 mol. % of one or more (meth)acrylate structural fragments having formula (1) below, where R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R2 represents a linear or branched hydrocarbon group containing at least 16 carbon atoms; (c) mixtures thereof, in which said at least one monoester is the reaction product of a monohydric alcohol and monocarboxylic acid, where said monohydroxy alcohol is at least one saturated branched aliphatic monohydric alcohol containing from 16 to 36 carbon atoms, and wherein said monocarboxylic acid is at least one saturated linear aliphatic monocarboxylic acid containing from 5 to 10 carbon atoms.

(I).

EFFECT: lubricating composition is used in an engine crankcase, in order to increase fuel efficiency.
