FIELD: earth-moving machines. SUBSTANCE: boom has recess freely receiving upper part of dipper stick, and pivot and boom control cylinders are located in center of platform. To transform face shovel into backhoe, boom is to be inclined by manipulation of hydraulic cylinders 5 and 6 to right position (Fig. 3), and, then, dipper stick is moved by manipulation of hydraulic cylinders 7 and 8 through its zero position (when it forms straight line together with boom) and hydraulic cylinder 7 and end part 9 of dipper stick prove to be on the other side of boom 4. EFFECT: higher efficiency due to transformation of excavator for short period of time from face shovel to backhoe and prolonged service life of bucket control hydraulic cylinder due to its distant location from excavated ground. 2 cl, 3 dwg
