METHOD OF MEASURING STATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF SEA-WAY FROM BOARD OF FLYING VEHICLE Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract RU 2012903 C1

FIELD: radiolocation. SUBSTANCE: board pulsed short-wave radiolocator is used, provided with aerial with wide directional pattern. The aerial is rigidly connected with the flying vehicle when it flies along the circle at constant height. Echo-signals are separated from the sequence from sea surface and centered envelope is selected either. After that pulse sequence is formed when crossing zero level of the envelope with subsequent measurement of current length of sea wave depending on change in current route. Two extreme values of sea wavelength are separated-minimal, measured in the direction of propagation, and maximal one in perpendicular direction, being equal to length of crest of sea wave. Preliminary value is compared with the subsequent one, and four external values of lengths are separated and memorized - two minimal values, measured at routes, which coincide with direction of propagation of sea waves and with direction, being opposite, and two maximal values of sea wavelength, measured at opposite routes, being perpendicular to direction of propagation. After that sea wavelength, lengths of crests and general direction of propagation of sea waves are measured. EFFECT: improved precision of measurement. 2 cl, 4 dwg
