FIELD: automotive engineering. SUBSTANCE: aerodynamic roof rack of a car has casing 1 and cover plate 2 forming closed volume for accommodating weight. Secure to inner surface of cover plate 2 at the front part of casing 1 is bracket 3 with slide 4 carrying a longitudinally movable spring-loaded power rod 5. Free end of rod 5 carries shaft 6. Rear part of cover plate 2 has two brackets 7 with hinges 8 at free ends and transverse rod 9. Secured to front and rear parts of casing 1 are spring-loaded locks 10 and 11. Lock 10 engages with shaft 6, whereas lock 11 cooperates with transverse rod 9. Interior of the casing also accommodates two spring-loaded telescoping rods 12. One end of each such rod is secured in journal 8, whereas the other end is pivotally connected to casing 1. Rear part of casing 1 accommodates power bracket 13 for telescoping rods 12 to bear on in the open position of the rack (casing 1 and cover plate 2 form common platform).
