FIELD: packaging machines. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has two portions for feeding webs of packaging material, web splicing station with two working rolls 9 mounted on shafts 4 in spaced relation one with respect to the other, and two cams 28, knives 11 for cutting each web and drive with gears. Each web feeding station has supporting block 15 and clamping block 17. Block 17 has drive for shifting it from support. Blocks are disposed upstream of location, where webs are introduced into space between two working rolls. Drive of each clamping block 17 has arm and lever with roller 27 mounted for engagement with cam 28. Knives 11 are mounted on working rolls 9. Two resilient faceplates 12 and 13 are fixed on outer surface of each working roll 9 and offset one with respect to the other for 180 deg. Each faceplate fixed on one working roll may be brought into engagement with one faceplate on the other working roll. Working rolls are turned one with respect to the other for 180 deg.
