SUBSTANCE: air-operated hammer comprises body with central channel accommodating a striker which divides said channel into working and idle stroke chambers, handle with sleeve, accumulating chamber and circular line air chamber, inlet radial throttle channel of working stroke chamber in body wall. To facilitate starting at the moment when striker covers inlet radial throttle channel of working stroke chamber, there is an additional starting throttle channel between the side surfaces of striker and wall of central channel. Said additional channel constantly communicates with inlet radial throttle channel of working stroke chamber and accumulating chamber. The starting channel may be provided both on internal side surface of central channel in body, and on external side surface of striker. EFFECT: improved design. 11 cl, 9 dwg
