FIELD: medicine, particularly, pediatrics. SUBSTANCE: new method prescribes testing blood serum of overmature neonate for level of thyroxin on the first and fifth day after birth. Should level of thyroxin drop by 25 % and below on the fifth day as compared with that measured on the first day, high rate of morbidity among neonates is prognosticated.
