HELICOPTER Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract RU 2015066 C1

FIELD: helicopter manufacture. SUBSTANCE: helicopter power plant has a water-gas engine, natural gas, water and compressed air vessels and a compressor. A rudder has a motor. Landing members are made in the form of two landing vessels from a soft elastic material filled with compressed helium or air. The helicopter has emergency cargo drop devices and emergency soft landing devices. The power plant engine is a natural gas-burning floating piston engine with a block of three cylinders 13 with combustion chambers 16. The engine has water-filled high- and low-pressure cavities 14 and 15 respectively, two gas turbines 55 and 56 which rotate upper and lower coaxial rotor propellers. Each combustion chambers 16 has head 11 with compressed air and compressed gas cavities connected to the combustion chamber by tubes, an evaporator, electric sparks, outlet channel with rotary insert 24 which connects combustion chamber 16 to one of the three working cylinders 13 by gas ducts. Combustion chamber 16 has exhaust pipe 19 with a valve, and also cylindrical water high-pressure chamber 27. Each working cylinder 13 has floating flexible piston 18 which parts the cylinder into gas and water cavities, and also electrical transducers which feed signals to a power plant control system about the position of piston 18 in cylinder 16. The engine operates by feeding the air and the natural gas to combustion chamber 16, ignition and burning of this mixture. The compressed air enters the working cylinder cavity above piston 18 and expels the water from the working cylinder under the piston through opened flap 32, produces water flow through hydraulic turbines 55 and 56 of the rotor propeller. The hydraulic turbines are set in rotation bringing the rotor propellers in action. After piston 18 reaches the lower dead point the control system feeds a signal to rotary insert 24 which brings in action the second cylinder, and the water enters the first cylinder through opening flap 33 which lifts floating piston 18 to the initial position near the top dead point. EFFECT: improved efficiency, reduced transport costs, improved reliability and flight safety. 5 cl, 4 dwg, 1 tbl
