FIELD: metallurgy; production of high-quality castings. SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of cast iron melt with calcium carbide powder, heating of cast iron on runner up to 1450-1500 C by blowing with oxygen by means of special lance, passing of metal through converging tube mixer simultaneous introduction of calcium carbide powder together with reddlings of alloying composition iron-silicon-magnesium, and subsequent pouring of melt into ladle and holding for 1.0-1.5 min. Device for producing cast iron with globular graphite has runner above which metering bin is installed for motion in horizontal and vertical planes. Metering bin has tube for supply of reagents to jet. Device also includes graphite converging tube mixer, secured under runner for moving from under runner over circle with radius equal to cantilever length; additional metering bin with tube for supply of reagents to jet is installed above converging tube mixer for motion in horizontal and vertical planes; lance installed above runner and which may be made in form of manifold of tubes with nozzles. Each metering bin may be furnished with steel tube installed in its lower part at angle of 15-25 deg. to horizontal and communicated with tube for supply of reagent. Aerator is made in form of steel rod with spiral grooves and installed in steel tube. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cl, 4 dwg
