FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of producing manganese containing steel in an arc furnace with carrying out oxidizing and reducing stages comprises steps of adding oxide manganese - containing materials at an end of the oxidizing stage, using low-phosphorus manganese ore as oxide manganese containing material and adding the above mentioned ore after achieving metal temperature, being 90-120 C higher, than liquidus temperature, by batches with time intervals, sufficient for keeping the above mentioned temperature value, at slag quantity, consisting 2-4% of mass of the metal and having alkalinity (2.5-4.0)%; at reducing stage carrying out an additional deoxidizing of the slag. EFFECT: enhanced quality of steel. 1 cl
