FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: the steel comprises further nitrogen, the ratio of the components being as follows (wt %): 0.27-0.34 carbon; 0.7-1.0 silicon 0.5-0.8 manganese; 0.5-1.2 chromium; 0.15-0.3 molybdenum; 1.2-1.5 nickel; 0.1-0.2 vanadium; 0.2-0.5 rare-earth metals; 0.015-0.028 nitrogen; and iron, the balance. The claimed cast die steel of said combination of the components makes it possible to increase plasticity, impact viscosity and wear resistance by two times while leads to wider range of cast dies and improved service life of the dies under especially hard conditions. EFFECT: improved properties of the steel. 3 tbl
