FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: method provides for an underwater silting of ground with purified water carrying away from silting area over crest of intermediate reservoir, covered with hydroinsulating film, into a pond, in which further purification of the water takes place and evacuation of purified water over crest of the main water reservoir. Before silting the area of ground structure is divided into sites, conjugated by length of the area, limited by longitudinal and transverse bankings and partitioned by a banking-coffer-dam. In longitudinal banking spillways are made. The spillways are whole in height and length covered by hydroinsulating film and on the area of silting intermediate spillways are made and covered with the film. During ground silting particles of ground are settled out and form a layer of silted ground on the whole area and waste water partially is purified and poured out over the crest of intermediate spillway into pond-collector, from which after final purification the water is poured out over the crest of the main spillway. After silting process of one of conjugated sites is finished, the process is transferred to the conjugated site. The layer of silted ground in the silted site is being moved with its dumping into water to expand length of the structure, longitudinal walls with simultaneous formation of transverse walls and additional intermediate spillways.
