FIELD: mechanical engineering; torque transmitting devices. SUBSTANCE: coupling has two flanged coupling members connected through pack of flexible plates. Plates of one pack are nested between plates of adjacent pack. Plates can be made with bent off ends. Free ends of plates of one pack are installed to butt against free ends of plates of adjacent packs, with their longitudinal axes lined up. Torque is transmitted from one coupling member to the other through pack of flexible plates. Half of all plates operates simultaneously. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 2 cl, 5 dwg
