FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: mechanism has inner 1 and outer 2 sprockets, cylindrical rollers 5 received within cells of the sprockets, two disk carriers 7 provided with grooves 8 wherein ends 9 of rollers 5 are received. When inner sprocket 1 rotates clockwise rollers 5 received in hollows of inner sprocket 1 move together with the sprocket and move disk carriers 7 by their ends 9. When inner sprocket is braked disk carriers 7, which is freely mounted on it, continues to rotate clockwise by inertia. As the result rollers 5, which roll on working surfaces 6 of inner sprocket 1, move along the grooves under the action of reaction forces directed along grooves 8 and enter the cells of outer sprocket 2. Thus the mechanism is ready for subsequent starting. When inner sprocket 1 rotates counter-clockwise one of rollers 5 is fixed between inner 1 and outer 2 sprockets and transmits a load.
