FIELD: applied megneto-optics. SUBSTANCE: bismuth-containing monocrystal iron garnet film is placed into nonuniform magnetic field, generated by magnetic field source. The film is applied onto transparent substrate, made of non-ferrous garnet. Domain structure is observed in the film by means of polarization microscope in "for reflection" mode. The film is effected by pulsed magnetic field, generated by coils and permanent magnetic field, generated by solenoid. Duration and magnitude of pulsed magnetic field is such one, that when field pulse is finished in the film, domain structure is kept. External fields are applied in perpendicular to the surface of the film in the same direction. Non-uniform magnetic field creates magneto-static traps, where domain structure is fixed.
