FIELD: applied magneto-optics. SUBSTANCE: narrow monochromatic beam is directed onto domain-containing film 2 from source 1. Light being diffracted on film 2 is passed through spatial filter 4 and light intensity is indicated by means of photodetector 3. External magnetic field is compensated by coils 5. When scanning domain-containing film by light beam or moving the units as a whole in the space, the topogram of spatial non-uniform magnetic film is plotted according to strength of compensating magnetic field as a coordinate function. EFFECT: improved precision. 4 cl, 1 dwg
