FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: vacuumized sand core (similar to a sand- covered roll) is fed to the molten metal through the bottom of the bath and discharged from the metal surface. The core is made by extruding the compacted sand through a die adapted for vacuumizing the sand and has a casting skin frozen on its surface which is aided by vacuum an extra factor significant enough to strengthen the core - metal contact and to hold the frozen metal skin on the core. EFFECT: increased process potentialities without any binding agents and polymeric materials; improved ecological properties. 4 cl, 3 dwg
