FIELD: continuous- casting machines. SUBSTANCE: unit has crystallizer 1 housings 3 with bearing members 2 arranged in them so that the blank can rest on them with its broad edge. These assemblies are positioned in the recooling zone having mobile stopping members mounted in its one or more sections oppositely as viewed from the narrow edges of the crystallizer located in the limits of the working area defined by sections of members 2. Limiting members 4 include self-contained drives 6, adapted to be mounted on the housings of the bearing members and transfer about them in the given direction. Drive 6 provided for moving of limiting members 4 can be rigidly fixed to frame 7 and admits rotation about the housings for separate dismantling of various assemblies arranged in the recooling zone. EFFECT: largely reduced wear of the narrow walls of the crystallizer when casting slabs in crystallizers rectangular in section, lower operational costs and improved quality of the slabs cast in continuous process. 2 cl, 4 dwg
