FIELD: tool steels thermal processing. SUBSTANCE: У8 is subjected to cycled thermal processing with multiple heating to temperature of hardening and cooling from temperature of last cycle heating and tempering to temperature tr- Ai of final hardening. In the case, heating time period is decreased to 0.1 - 0.9 from total heating time period for standard hardening. As a result of tool steel thermal processing, structure components reduction and structure phase riveting on are taking place, that provides increased strength and wear resistance of tool steels. EFFECT: increase of strength and wear resistance of tool steels. 2 tbl
