COMPOSITION FOR WETTING RAW COTTON Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed composition contains, mass % : surface active substance on the base of alkylarylsulfonate mixture 0.25-1.00, acetone 0.5-1.0, kerosene 0.4-0.5, water. Composition is prepared by mixing in reactor water and surface active substance, the process is carried out at 40-45 C, it is followed by adding kerosene and acetone without additional heating. Sulfanol may be used as mentioned above surface active substance. Proposed composition is sprayed to wet raw cotton. The process is carried out after purification and before ginning. Wettability of raw cotton is 349-398% , moisture content in raw cotton and fiber is 8.05% and 5.95% respectively. EFFECT: increases wettability and moisture content of raw cotton, increases tensile strength of fiber; decreases cost of package. 5 tbl
