FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves controlling flowing of metal from pouring vessel through metering cup and control gate with sliding plate, which effectuates reciprocating motion; blowing gas into metal flow along perimeter of flow. Gas is blown into metal flow so that it is distributed nonuniformly along metal flow perimeter, i.e. 60-80% of total volume of gas is delivered to metal flow zone oriented in the direction opposite to the direction of motion of sliding plate, when control gate is opened. This zone is limited by flow perimeter arc within the range of 90-180 deg. EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation. 1 tbl
