FIELD: cleaning of surfaces. SUBSTANCE: method involves immersing articles into a layer of detergent solution located above a layer of auxiliary fluid intended to clean said detergent solution. The auxiliary fluid has a larger density than that of the detergent solution, its level is positioned below the articles, it does not form stable emulsion with the detergent solution and is capable of selective extraction of oil-and-fat pollutants from the detergent fluid. In the course of cleaning, the detergent and auxiliary fluids are mixed in the zone of phase interface. Pollutants are removed by draining the spent auxiliary fluid. Then said fluid is reclaimed and returned into the cleaning process. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 1 tbl
