FIELD: machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: value of clearance of finish processing along the whole length of a piece is formed at initial processing stage during line by line cut in circular polishing with cut in feeding speed of each i line - Vi.in, taken, first, from condition of equality of finish processing clearance values of each i line to values of corresponding deformations in elastic manufacturing system at the end of initial processing stage; and, second, taken from condition of finish clearance removal in process of longitudinal circular polishing in mode of 'dwelling' at least by one longitudinal run of piece relatively to polishing disk with speed of Vl. Using test methods at initial processing stage they determine rule of rigidity change in elastic manufacturing system and identify it with corresponding interrelations between physical parameters of polishing process. In the case following actions are made on each i line: actual values of time constant Ti of transitional processes of cutting are determined; for the least rigid cross-section of piece with time constant To, nominal value of cut in feeding speed Vo.in, that provides given roughness on processed surface in case of absence of burning, is chosen; cut in feeding speed for each i line is determined; polishing disk is fed in direction of cutting in with speed of Vi.in on each i line until position, that coincides with 'zero' mark of size adjustment device of machine. At the stage of finish processing, polishing disk is matched with "zero" mark of size adjustment device of machine and piece processing is carried out at least by one run of table with longitudinal feeding speed Vl. EFFECT: method is used during adjustment and control of elastic manufacturing system of circular polishing machines in case of body of rotation processing. 2 dwg
