FIELD: preparation of uranium oxide. SUBSTANCE: the uranium containing compound is subjected to thermal decomposition on a substrate heated to 600-800 C in a hydrogen atmosphere containing 0.1-1.0 vol % oxygen. The uranium containing material is tricyclopentadienyluranium chloride. EFFECT: improved process.
