FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: hypoid transmission having arbitrary arranged axes is provided with conical gear and wheel with quasi- evolvent teeth. Teeth of the wheel are the same in altitude and center of curvature of longitudinal line of a tooth of the wheel is positioned at semicircumference whose diameter is generatrix of initial cone. Slop of teeth of the wheel in the middle point and initial diameter of the gear are defined by relationships available in the invention description. In assembling the gear with arbitrary positioned axes teeth of the gear engage with teeth of the wheel transmitting rotation from driving shaft to driven shaft owing to interaction between teeth of the wheel and gear positioned so that their initial cones contact with each other in a point that is pole of engaging.
