FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves growing tomato seedlings with seminal leaves, three true leaves, and three lateral shoots with five leaves and one flower cluster on two shoots and two on the third shoot. Tips of all the shoots are pinched. The plants are trimmed at 10-day intervals by removing leaves following a certain procedure, and the roots are partly removed by the end of the fifth decade. The mass of roots removed is 0.1-1.0 of α, the latter value being area of surface of the removed leaves relative to the total plant leaf area. EFFECT: more efficient method. 7 dwg, 1 tbl
