FIELD: crushing plants. SUBSTANCE: two-roll toothed crusher has movable and motionless crushing rolls 13 and 14 mounted for forming exit slit being equal to S. Rock composition 33 which has large-sized lumps 34 is advanced into crusher by conveyer 9. When large-sized lumps 34 approach to crusher the exit slit of the crusher is abruptly increased to width of Smax by means of mechanism for forced moving of rolls apart. This width excess initial one several times; as a result, rolls clamp large-sized limps 34 and they are crushed. In this case conveyer 9 is retarded and stopped when large-sized lump 34 approaches unloading panel (till working area of crushing zone is released completely from material to be crushed). Then conveyer 9 is turned on again for short time till large-sized lump 34 is clamped by crushing zone. After that conveyer 9 is turned off till this lump is crushed completely and size of exit slit is reduced to initial width S. The method may be used with application of two-roll toothed crushers, rotary crusher and other types of crushers. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 3 cl, 16 dwg
